Electric Boogaloo - La loca historia de Cannon Films

Electric Boogalo es un documental sobre la compañía cinematográfica estadounidense Cannon Films (1967-1994) y sus propietarios Menahem Golan y Yoram Globus. Dos israelíes que consiguieron cumplir el sueño americano y ganarse un sitio en la industria cinematográfica de los 80 en estados unidos.

Los dos protagonistas de este documental son tan peculiares que pareciese que no pudieran ser reales. Estrafalarios, locos o incluso genios, son algunos de los muchos adjetivos con los que se les describe en el documental. Pero de lo que no cave ninguna duda, es que su pasión por el cine, por encima de cualquier otra cosa, fue los que les llevó realizar su sueño y les llevo a crear una de las productoras más proliferas de la historia del cine, unas 120 películas en sus 10 años más productivos.

Tal y como ellos mismos dicen en el documental, su intención al realizar las películas, era hacer aquellas películas que los americanos querían ver. Aunque quizá la visión de dos israelitas sobre lo que querían ver los americanos no fuera la más acertada. Crearon el Fast food de la industria cinematográfica, estrenando películas sin parar y compensando sus muchos fracasos con algunos de éxitos que  marcaron una década. Muchas películas que nuestros inocentes ojos veían como clásicos del cine americano de aquella época, salieron de las mentes de estos dos 'visionarios' que se atrevieron a hacer cuaquier tipo de película con tal de cumplir sus sueños.
