DUNE

Dune es una novela de ciencia ficción escrita por Frank Herbert en 1965. Es la primera novela de una de las sagas más importantes de la literatura de ciencia ficción. Gracias al gran éxito de la novela, hubo muchos intentos de trasladarla a la gran pantalla. Proyecto que tras muchas dificultades finalmente vería la luz en la película Dune (1984), dirigida por David Lynch.

Dune is a science fiction novel written by Frank Herbert in 1965. Winner of multiple awards, Dune is one of the most important sagas of science fiction literature. Thanks to the great success of the novel, there were many attempts to do a movie about it. Project after much difficulty finally see the light in the movie Dune ( 1984 ), directed by David Lynch.

ALEJANDRO JODOROWSKY

Alejandro Jodorowsky es un polifacético artista chileno, a trabajado como novelista, dramaturgo, poeta o ensayista, director teatral y de cine, guionista, actor, mimo, marionetista, compositor de bandas sonoras, escultor, pintor y escenógrafo en cine, historietista, dibujante, instructor del tarot y sanador psicomágico. Esta última es una técnica que conjuga los ritos chamánicos, el teatro y el psicoanálisis, cuyos pretendidos efectos son provocar en el paciente una catarsis de curación.

Alejandro Jodorowsky is a multifaceted Chilean artist, he worked as a novelist, poet and essayist, theater director and film writer, actor, mime, film composer, sculptor ,painter and stage designer in film, cartoonist, illustrator, psychomagic tarot instructor and 'psicomágico'. The latter is a technique that combines shamanic rituals, theater and psychoanalysis, whose intended effects are causing in the patient a healing catharsis.

En su faceta como director entre sus primeras películas destacan la montaña sagrada (The Holy Mountain).  Uno de los mayores ejemplos del cine esotérico.

Así como el Topo: La película se caracteriza por sus extraños acontecimientos y personajes, por el empleo de actores mutilados y enanos, y por las grandes dosis de simbolismo cristiano, y filosofía oriental. La película sigue al personaje que, a caballo y con su hijo desnudo en la grupa, reparte justicia allí por donde pasa en su incesante búsqueda por alcanzar la maestría, o iluminación, y dar sentido a su vida.

And the Mole : The film is characterized by strange events and characters, by the use of maimed and dwarf actors, and large doses of Christian symbolism and Eastern philosophy. The film follows the character that on horseback and with his naked child on the rump, delivers justice wherever he goes in his relentless quest to achieve mastery, or lighting, and give meaning to their lives .

"Fue una gran empresa de hacer el guion", dice Jodorowsky en el documental. "Es muy, es como Proust, lo comparo con la gran literatura."

La energía que transmite Jodorowsky se filtra a través de la pantalla contagiando al espectador y trasladándolo a lo que hubiera podido ser una de las mayores películas de la historia.

Un increible elenco de actores (guerreros espirituales según Jodorowsky) que deberían aparecer en la película eran entre otros Salvador Dalí (Emperador Shaddam IV), Orson Wells (Barón Vladimir Harkonnen), Mick Jagger (Feyd Rautha), David Carradine (Duque Letto Atreides).

Jodorowsky transmitting power is filtered through the screen spreading the viewer and moving it to what could be one of the greatest movies ever.
